Genmai Mochi Kiri with Brown Rice

Brown rice mochi is made from sweet brown rice. It is made by steaming cleaned, sweet brown rice and then pounding it into a sticky paste. When the paste cools it hardens.
The hardened mochi is then cut into small pieces and individually vacuum packed.
Brown rice mochi retains all the wholesome benefits of brown rice. It is known to stimulate the milk-secreting glands in women after child birth.
It can be added cut into small pieces and added to soups or pan fried and served with fruit or rice syrup or cut into squares and deep fried as an alternative to croutons.
