Wakame is rich in vitamins A and B, and essential minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. Atlantic wakame grows wild and is harvested by hand from pure Icelandic waters. We dry it using renewable geothermal energy to bring you the highest quality food source with a low carbon footprint. Atlantic wakame is closely related to Japanese wakame and is also known as dabberlocks. In Icelandic, we call it marinkjarni. Wakame has a mild flavour which blends well with other vegetables. Wakame is excellent for salads, soups, sauces, stews and casseroles and can be wrapped around fish or savoury fillings. For best results, soak in water for 10 minutes to overnight. It can also be toasted as a snack and crumbled as a condiment. Wakame turns light green when cooked.
