Seaweed Iceland is an independant, family run business whose seaweeds grow wild in the pure waters surrounding Iceland and are harvested by hand. They are dried using renewable geothermal energy to provide the highest quality food source with a low carbon footprint.
The drying process is done under low heat to protect and retain important enzymes and delicate chemical compounds.
Atlantic Wakame is a fat-free food that is rich in B vitamins and essential minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium.
Atlantic Wakame is closely related to Japanese wakame.
It has a mild flavour which blends well with other vegetables. It is excellent for use in salads, soups, sauces, stewsand casseroles.
